Bridging People and Countries: EU brings real changes to border communities in Armenia and Georgia

June 16, 2017

Successful achievements in cross-border cooperation between Armenia and Georgia are the focus of the closing conference of the Armenia–Georgia Eastern Partnership Territorial Cooperation (EaP TC) programme, which is taking place in Armenia on 16 June. The conference is being held in Gyumri and opened by high-level Armenian and Georgian officials.

The conference will bring together representatives of national, regional and local authorities, civil society organisations and opinion leaders, international donors and partners, Armenian and Georgian business and media circles, as well as cross-border project teams from the participating regions.

According to a press release by the EaP TC, Armenian–Georgian cooperation within the programme has significantly improved mutual understanding by involving local communities of the border regions in a multi-cultural dialogue, as well as breaking stereotypes and building trust amongst the neighbouring communities, fostering reliable business relations and promoting sustainable regional development.
