EU4Youth held a Closeout Event in Sairme, Baghdati Municipality of Georgia

February 10, 2020

On 22-24 January, Save the Children conducted a closing event for regional partner organisations trained in the framework of the EU4Youth project Better Skills for Better Future in Georgia.

The event took place in the village of Sairme, the country's Baghdati Municipality, with 17 trainers from 10 organisations in attendance.

The event aimed at conducting a set of final workshops. The first day included sessions about lessons learned, final reporting from each organisation on what they had accomplished, identifying challenges and discussing the ways how to overcome them, and identifying best practices developed during the project.

During the second day, participants were divided in two groups. One group conducted a workshop dedicated to the role of youth workers, the importance of professional youth work services and ways to institutionalise youth work. The second group held a workshop about establishing support structures for youth, such as entrepreneurship labs, business coaching services and seed funding opportunities for youth.

The event was organized within the scope of the EU4Youth: Better Skills for Better Future project, funded by the European Union and implemented by Save the Children International in three countries of the Eastern Partnership – Armenia, Georgia and Ukraine. Save the Children’s implementing partner in Georgia is LEPL ‘Youth Agency’.

The project contributes to developing the entrepreneurial potential of disadvantaged youth and ensures their increased access to education and training opportunities for greater employability, and advocates for coherent and cross-sectoral youth policies at local, regional and national levels.
